Borussia Dortmund go up against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga this weekend, but as many as ten first team players could miss the game.

Borussia Dortmund were without nine first-team players for the Champions League game against Zenit St. Petersburg on Tuesday. And they suffered two more blows during the game, after both Mats Hummels and Thorgan Hazard had to be subbed off in the second half.

Both Kicker and Ruhr Nachrichten report that Hummels should be fit to play against Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday. But Thorgan Hazard suffered a muscle injury against Zenit, the severity of which has not yet been determined.

Ruhr Nachrichten add that Manuel Akanji is unlikely to be available this weekend’s game against Stuttgart, having also missed the previous two games with a knee injury. While question marks remain over the availability of Thomas Delaney (back), Mahmoud Dahoud (ill) and Mateu Morey (muscle). There is still hope, though, that Raphael Guerreiro will be able to return to the team on Saturday.

Erling Haaland, Thomas Meunier and Marcel Schmelzer remain out for Borussia Dortmund. While Reinier Jesus is also set to miss the game despite returning to individual training earlier this week. Lucien Favre said on Monday that it will be a while before the Brazilian forward is fit again.
