Borussia Dortmund vs VfB Stuttgart: Expected Starting XI
Borussia Dortmund host VfB Stuttgart on Saturday as they look to build on Tuesday’s Champions League win over Zenit St. Petersburg.
Borussia Dortmund ended their run of three games without a win on Tuesday by grabbing a vital 2-1 victory against Zenit. It was a much needed win for the Black and Yellows, especially with several key players out injured. Borussia Dortmund have a lot of question marks heading into this weekend’s game against Stuttgart, with two more players picking up knocks against Zenit.
We know for sure that Erling Haaland, Thomas Meunier, Reinier Jesus and Marcel Schmelzer will miss the game. Lucien Favre wasn’t willing to reveal much about the status of the injured players during his press conference on Thursday. Manuel Akanji, Raphael Guerreiro, Mateu Morey, Thorgan Hazard, Mahmoud Dahoud and Thomas Delaney are all injury doubts going into the game against Stuttgart.
Here is a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up this weekend.
Goalkeeper: Roman Bürki
Marwin Hitz got the start in the Champions League midweek, but we will likely see Favre go back to his number one goalkeeper on Saturday. Bürki will be hoping for a quiet afternoon between the sticks as he looks to keep his first clean sheet in the league since October.
