Emre Can (4/10)

Can lunged into Klimowicz with a poor tackle which resulted in Stuttgart’s first half penalty. It was a poor decision by the German international, and his game did not get any better after that. He was always looking to drive the ball forward but misplaced a number of passes and was wasteful in possession.

Mats Hummels (4/10)

Hummels had a tough time against Stuttgart and never really looked comfortable defensively. He tried to set his teammates up with his trademark forward passes, but they didn’t always come off. He lost sight of Wamangituka before the second goal, and then also failed to close down Förster and Coulibaly before the third and fourth.

Manuel Akanji (4/10)

Akanji really struggled against the pace and skill of the Stuttgart forwards. Wamangituka and Coulibaly enjoyed a lot of success in their 1v1 duels against him. He looked too passive in defence and his positioning was wrong on a number of occasions.
