Mateu Morey (4.5/10)

Morey wasn’t able to make much of an impact going forward. He wasn’t directly responsible for any of the goals, but will feel that he could have done a better job of closing down Sosa before his cross for Stuttgart’s third.

Axel Witsel (3.5/10)

Witsel was a spectator for large parts of the game as Stuttgart ran rings around him. He did not offer any defensive resistance whatsoever as Stuttgart dominated the game for 90 minutes. Nor did he have any noteworthy contributions going forward. As has often been the case in recent weeks, Witsel was too slow and made things very easy for Stuttgart.

Jude Bellingham (4/10)

Bellingham has been excellent of late, but he really struggled to cope with Stuttgart’s pressing and intensity. He looked sloppy in possession and made too many bad passes. He was at least partly responsible for the second and fourth goals. The game was a painful lesson for Bellingham, and hopefully he will recover from it soon.

Raphael Guerreiro (4.5/10)

Guerreiro was asked to do a lot more defending today than he would have liked. He made several sloppy errors which hurt Borussia Dortmund defensively. He did show glimpses of his quality going forward, and set up the goal for Gio Reyna with a gorgeous over the top through ball.
