Axel Witsel (6.5/10)

Witsel looked a lot more decisive against Werder Bremen. He was much quicker in his reactions, and made some vital tackles and interceptions for his side. He protected the back four well and distributed the ball at a quicker pace. He also tried to play dangerous forward passes more often than he did under Lucien Favre, even if it did affect his passing accuracy.

Jude Bellingham (5.5/10)

Bellingham’s low cross at the half hour mark nearly forced an own goal which would have restored Borussia Dortmund’s advantage. But Christian Groß ended up hitting the post and the scores stayed level. The 17 year old was always looking to get on the ball and make things happen, even if his decision making was off at times. He was exhausted by the time he came off for Julian Brandt.
