Borussia Dortmund player ratings vs Werder Bremen: Marco Reus, Raphael Guerreiro score in narrow win
By Tushar Bahl
Jadon Sancho (6/10)
Sancho’s blocked shot resulted in Raphael Guerreiro’s opener. Then he thought he had scored his first Bundesliga goal of the season at the hour mark, only to be denied by the linesman’s flag. He was much sharper and more confident down the wing, especially in the first half. But much like Bellingham, he looked tired towards the end and missed a great chance to double Borussia Dortmund’s lead late on.
Marco Reus (8/10)
Reus was much more involved in the attacking play, and created some good chances for his teammates. He also tested Pavlenka on a couple of occasions, before eventually scoring the winner after his initial penalty was saved. The Borussia Dortmund captain showed great awareness to net the rebound, and it was a well deserved goal for him.
Gio Reyna (6/10)
Reyna’s game was a bit of a mixed bag. He got into some really promising positions with his tireless running and ability to get past defenders. He helped create a number of fairly decent chances, but some of the decisions he made on the final third of the pitch were really frustrating.
Youssoufa Moukoko (5/10)
Making his first start of his fledgling senior career, Moukoko got into some really good positions. His movement was good, but it looked like he was just trying a bit too hard when it came to his finishing. He can still take plenty of encouragement from the fact that he is doing a lot of things right, and the goals will no doubt come soon.
