Youssoufa Moukoko made Bundesliga history, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Borussia Dortmund from losing 2-1 to Union Berlin.

Borussia Dortmund experienced a case of deja vu in Berlin, as defensive lapses cost them heavily once again away to Union Berlin. Die Eisernen took the lead from a corner, with Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi scoring the opener. Youssoufa Moukoko issued a swift response for Borussia Dortmund, as he equalised with an excellent first time finish.

But just as Dortmund were starting to find their rhythm, it was Union Berlin who got the decisive breakthrough. Another corner, more poor defending, and this time it was Marvin Friedrich who took advantage to head home his fourth goal of the season. It was a deserved defeat for the Black and Yellows, who were no match to a well drilled and disciplined Union Berlin side.

It will now be back to the drawing board for Edin Terzic, who suffered his first defeat as Borussia Dortmund head coach. Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from the 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin.
