Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko made history on Friday, becoming the Bundesliga’s youngest ever goalscorer.

Less than one month after he became the youngest player to ever play in the Bundesliga, Youssoufa Moukoko scored his first senior goal for Borussia Dortmund. Starting only his second game for the senior team, the striker looked very lively and even hit the post on the stroke of half time.

But he wasn’t to be denied in the 60th minute, as he smashed the ball into the back of the net with an excellent first time finish, leaving Union Berlin goalkeeper Andreas Luthe with no chance. Moukoko made a fine run to get on the end of Raphael Guerreiro’s through ball, before scoring his first ever senior goal.

It was a finish that Erling Haaland would have been proud of. And the goal helped Moukoko make more Bundesliga history.

At the age of 16 years and 28 days, Moukoko became the youngest player to ever score a goal in Bundesliga history. He beat the record set by Florian Wirtz earlier this year by a huge margin. The Bayer Leverkusen youngster was 17 years and 34 days old when he scored against Bayern Munich in June.

It was a special moment for Moukoko, who scored 141 goals in just 88 appearances at the youth level, before making his senior debut just one day after his 16th birthday.

Despite Moukoko’s goal, Borussia Dortmund succumbed to a disappointing 2-1 defeat away to Union Berlin on Friday. The defeat was the Black and Yellows fifth in the Bundesliga this season after just 13 games, and leaves them with plenty of work to do going into the Christmas break.
