`Borussia Dortmund suffered their fifth defeat of the season, while Bayern Munich regained top spot in the Bundesliga standings on the final matchday of 2020.

Borussia Dortmund’s woes continue away to Union Berlin

Union Berlin hosted Borussia Dortmund to kick-off matchday 13 in the Bundesliga on Friday evening. And they defeated the Black and Yellows at home for the second season running, this time earning a 2-1 win.

Both of Union Berlin’s goals came off corners, as Dortmund once again paid the price for their poor marking. Youssoufa Moukoko made history by becoming the youngest player to score in the Bundesliga. But goals from Taiwo Awoniyi and Marvin Friedrich sealed a memorable win for the capital club.

Bayen Munich back on top after winning Topspiel

Defending Bundesliga champions Bayen Munich returned to the top of the table after a come from behind win over Bayer Leverkusen. Patrik Schick gave Peter Bosz’ side the early lead, but Robert Lewandowski equalised in the 43rd minute, before completing the turnaround deep into stoppage time.

The win helped Bayern open up a two point lead at the top of the table, with Borussia Dortmund eight points behind in five place.
