Midfield: Jude Bellingham & Thomas Delaney

Borussia Dortmund need to change things up in midfield, where they have gotten completely stale and stagnant in recent weeks. Ever since joining Borussia Dortmund, Axel Witsel has been a mainstay in the midfield. His performances recently just haven’t been at the same level as he struggles to move the ball forward up the field fast enough. Combining Witsel with Emre Can is basically accepting that you want more defensive contributions than creativity from midfield.

Borussia Dortmund have to get some creativity in their midfield and with Mahmoud Dahoud missing, they will get that with one of Jude Bellingham or Julian Brandt in the team. Bellingham is having an impressive breakthrough campaign and only came off the bench on Friday. So he will be fresh and ready to go.

Julian Brandt is the other option here, and while his form hasn’t been great this season an extended run in central midfield, his best position, could change that drastically. Thomas Delaney should be the other midfielder in the double pivot, with Can and Witsel getting a bit of rest.
