Borussia Dortmund face a tough away game against Eintracht Braunschweig in the second round of the DFB Pokal on Tuesday.

The DFB Pokal makes its return this week, and Borussia Dortmund will be in action away to Eintracht Braunschweig. After their defeat to Union Berlin on Friday, the Black and Yellows will know that anything other than a win against the second division side would spell disaster going into the new year.

Eintracht Braunschweig have won just one of their last five games and go into the Pokal clash in 15th place in the 2. Bundesliga standings. But as the famous cliché says, form book often goes out of the window when it comes to cup competitions. The Lions will need no motivation for this cup tie. They defeated Hertha Berlin 5-4 in the first round and now they will be aiming to cause an even bigger upset which would further add to Borussia Dortmund’s troubles.

Borussia Dortmund also find themselves badly out of form at the moment. The Black and Yellows have won just one of their last five games in the Bundesliga, and only two of their last seven in all competitions. The defeat to Union Berlin on Friday was another big blow for Edin Terzic’s side, as they slipped out of the top four in the league. With a title challenge looking unlikely, Dortmund will be desperate to win the DFB Pokal this season.
