Borussia Dortmund will be without Youssoufa Moukoko for the game against Wolfsburg, but Erling Haaland is set to make his return to the side.

Borussia Dortmund begin the new year with a home game against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday. But they will have to make do without Youssoufa Moukoko, who misses out with a knee injury. According to BILD, Moukoko hasn’t been able to train with his teammates this week. But if everything goes well, he should be fit for next weekend’s game against RB Leipzig.

Moukoko became the youngest player to score in the Bundesliga when he found the net during Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin last month. But after suffering a knee injury during that game, the highly rated striker was forced to miss the DFB Pokal clash against Eintracht Braunschweig a few days later.

While Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Moukoko, they will welcome Erling Haaland back to the side. The Norwegian striker is fully fit again after recovering from his torn muscle fibre. He is expected to return to the starting XI straight away after missing the last seven games. Haaland has scored 17 goals in just 14 appearances so far this season

Steffen Tigges is also an option after making his Borussia Dortmund debut against Eintracht Braunschweig. The 22 year old has 12 goals in 18 appearances for the U-23s this season.

Borussia Dortmund will also be without Thorgan Hazard on Sunday, with the Belgian international ruled out for several weeks with a muscle injury.
