Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to get back to winning ways in the Bundesliga as they host VfL Wolfsburg in their first game of the new year on Sunday.

After a disappointing start to the season, Borussia Dortmund find themselves in sixth place in the Bundesliga standings going into their first game of 2021. They have won just one of their last five games in the league, and cannot afford a poor start to the new year with big games against RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach on the horizon.

On Sunday, the Black and Yellows go up against a Wolfsburg side with just one defeat this season. Only RB Leipzig (9) have conceded fewer goals than Oliver Glasner’s side (13) so far. And they will no doubt look to make things difficult for Dortmund, who have found goals hard to come by in recent weeks.

Borussia Dortmund will be boosted by the return of Erling Haaland, who is set to slot straight into the starting XI after missing the last seven games. Youssoufa Moukoko will miss the game with a knee injury, while Thorgan Hazard is also out. Wolfsburg will be without former Borussia Dortmund forward Maximilian Philipp, who has a muscle injury.

The game can be streamed live in the United States on ESPN+. While viewers in the United Kingdom can tune in on BT Sport 2 or the BT Sport App. Sky Sport Bundesliga 1 will broadcast the game live in Germany.
