Borussia Dortmund will probably be without midfielder Jude Bellingham for the game against RB Leipzig, but Youssoufa Moukoko is set to make his return to training.
Jude Bellingham missed Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 win over Wolfsburg with a foot injury. And according to Ruhr Nachrichten, he is also likely to miss Saturday’s crunch clash against RB Leipzig. The midfielder has been ever-present for the Black and Yellows since his summer move from Birmingham City, so his potential absence against Leipzig would certainly be a big blow for Edin Terzic’s side.
There is some good news on the injury front though, with Youssoufa Moukoko set to return to training this week. The 16 year old has almost fully recovered from the knee injury that saw him miss Borussia Dortmund’s last two games. And he could be in the squad for the game against RB Leipzig.
Michael Zorc confirmed to Ruhr Nachrichten that the game will come too early for Thorgan Hazard, who is out with a muscle injury.
While there appears to be more frustration in store for Marcel Schmelzer, who has yet to make his return to training since undergoing a knee operation in August. The veteran left-back is currently in rehab, and it is still not clear when he will be able to return to training. Ruhr Nachrichten say it is possible that he may not play a game this season.
Marcel Schmelzer’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and he is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in the summer.
