RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund: Expected starting lineup for Bundesliga clash
Midfield: Thomas Delaney, Axel Witsel
Edin Terzic was full of praise for Thomas Delaney in Thursday’s press conference so it is likely we will see him back in the starting XI. Out of the three defensive midfielders (Delaney, Witsel and Can), Delaney has been the most consistent this season.
We will likely see Axel Witsel in the starting XI alongside Delaney. Although Witsel has been a mainstay throughout his time in Dortmund, his performances this season have left a lot to be desired.
Ideally we would see Mahmoud Dahoud or Julian Brandt along with Delaney to bring some creativity to the midfield, but that doesn’t seem likely considering recent selections and Terzic’s preferred system. Emre Can could also be an option, but after the win against Wolfsburg, it is unlikely that Terzic will make too many changes to the team.
