Luka Jovic is set to make a stunning return to Eintracht Frankfurt, while Bayer Leverkusen are about to sign Timothy Fosu-Mensah from Manchester United.
Bundesliga clubs have been fairly active in the early days of the January transfer window, with the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Sead Kolasinac and Joe Scally all moving to the league. Now two more transfers are on the verge of completion.
Luka Jovic set for Eintracht Frankfurt return
Luka Jovic is closing in on a return to Eintracht Frankfurt, with multiple reports claiming that he will be joining on loan until the end of the season. The 23 year old left the Eagles for Real Madrid in 2019, but the move hasn’t yet worked out for him so far.
Now 18 months later, he is set to make his return to Eintracht Frankfurt, where he will be looking to find his confidence once again. Eintracht have been in the market for a new striker, having sold Bas Dost to Club Brugge. They will be hoping that Jovic can return to the form that made him such a hot commodity in the first place.
Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic confirmed that the transfer is in the works on Tuesday, saying, “If everything works out, he will be with us again soon.”
Bayer Leverkusen to sign Manchester United defender
Bayer Leverkusen are on the verge of completing the signing of Manchester United’s Timothy Fosu-Mensah, with the defender expected to cost them in the region of 1.5 million euros. The versatile Dutchman rejected a contract extension offer from the Premier League side. And with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Leverkusen are set to sign him on the cheap.
He will arrive to bolster the defence for Peter Bosz’ side. Fosu-Mensah can play at right-back, centre back and even in defensive midfield.
