Reinier Jesus will not be ending his Borussia Dortmund loan-spell this month, despite interest from other clubs in signing him.

According to Sky Sport, Reinier Jesus will not be leaving Borussia Dortmund this month as he wants to prove himself at the club in the coming months. But both parties will reassess the situation in the summer if his playing time does not change until the end of the season.

Reinier has been limited to just eight appearances in all competitions since joining Borussia Dortmund on a two year loan deal in the summer. The Real Madrid loanee has yet to start a game or score a goal for the Black and Yellows, and has only been on the pitch for a total of 136 minutes. His last appearance came in the 5-1 defeat against VfB Stuttgart in December. And he failed to make the squad for last weekend’s trip to RB Leipzig.

That has led to reports in Spain claiming that both Real Madrid and Reinier’s entourage are unhappy with his lack of playing time. And he could cut his loan spell short to return to Spain this month, with La Liga side Real Valladolid interested in signing him on loan. But now it looks like the 18 year old will stay at the Westfalenstadion at least until the end of the season.

Michael Zorc said earlier this week that Borussia Dortmund do not want to end Reinier’s loan spell this month. Reinier will now be aiming to return to the match-day squad as Borussia Dortmund take on Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga this weekend.
