Borussia Dortmund take on Mainz 05 this weekend with the chance to go up to third place in the Bundesliga standings.

Having earned an impressive 3-1 win over RB Leipzig last weekend, Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to keep their winning run going as they host Mainz 05 on Saturday. The Black and Yellows find themselves five points behind league leaders Bayern Munich, and will go third in the Bundesliga table with a win against Mainz.

Mainz are winless in eight and find themselves rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga standings. But they did manage to take a 2-0 lead against Bayern Munich just two weeks ago, and so Borussia Dortmund cannot afford to take them lightly. New head coach Bo Svensson will be looking for his first win in charge of the 05ers.

Borussia Dortmund will be without Axel Witsel, Thorgan Hazard and Marcel Schmelzer for the game against Mainz, but Jude Bellingham could make his return to the squad after recovering from his foot injury. Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus will be aiming to continue their good form, having starred in the win over RB Leipzig.
