Team News

Emre Can picked up his fifth yellow card on Saturday and misses the Leverkusen match through an automatic one match suspension. Injuries to Axel Witsel, Thorgan Hazard and Marcel Schmelzer will keep them sidelined as well. Dan-Axel Zagadou is ruled out for potentially two-three weeks with the hamstring injury he suffered against Mainz. Dortmund will hope midfield absences of Axel Witsel and Emre Can will be filled ably by Thomas Delaney and Jude Bellingham.

Bayer Leverkusen have signed young defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah from Manchester United, and should also welcome Wendell and Daley Sinkgraven back to the squad after COVID-19 exposure. But they will have to make do without Santiago Arias, Paulinho and Mitchell Weiser. Florian Wirtz, Sven Bender and Karim Bellarabi are also injury doubts.

Expected Starting XIs

Bayer Leverkusen: Hrádecky – L. Bender, Tapsoba, Tah, Sinkgraven – Baumgartlinger, Amiri, Wirtz – Bailey, Diaby – Schick

Borussia Dortmund: Bürki – Meunier, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro – Bellingham, Delaney – Sancho, Reus, Brandt – Haaland
