Borussia Dortmund head to Gladbach on match day 18 in the Bundesliga begin the second half of the season with a win.

Borussia Dortmund are coming off another frustrating performance against Bayer Leverkusen that saw them suffer their sixth defeat of the season. Dortmund currently sit in 4th place but there are teams right on their backs so they can’t afford to drop any more points. Dortmund’s season so far has been one of incredibly frustrating inconsistency. They have games where you can see that they could beat any team in the world. Then the next week they look like 11 players playing together for the first time, completely lacking cohesion.

Dortmund will be without several key players in Dan-Axel Zagadou, Thorgan Hazard and Axel Witsel again on Friday through injury. Thomas Delaney also picked up his fifth booking of the season and will miss the game as well. But Emre Can will be back in the squad.

Here is how Borussia Dortmund could line up against Gladbach.

Goalkeeper: Roman Bürki

Roman Bürki will be in goal once again on Friday. Although he made a lot of saves against Leverkusen, his positioning and distribution led to more criticism than praise. He needs to put in a string of strong performances if he wants to win back the fans’ confidence.
