Borussia Dortmund face top four rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday in what will be a game of massive importance for both teams’ seasons.

The second half of the Bundesliga season gets underway on Friday, with Borussia Mönchengladbach hosting Borussia Dortmund in what promises to be a cracking fixture between two teams with similar ambitions for the season.

It is fair to say that the Black and Yellows are not where they expected to be at this stage of the season. They showed their title credentials on the opening day of the season with a 3-0 win over Gladbach, but go into the reverse fixture knowing that they could slip to as low as eighth place at the end of the weekend.

Gladbach, on the other hand, are on the up. After a disappointing December, Marco Rose’s side have gone on a run of three wins in four games. They earned an incredible comeback victory of Bayern Munich just two weeks ago, and could replace Borussia Dortmund in the top four with a win on Friday.

Edin Terzic’s side will be without the injured Axel Witsel, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Thorgan Hazard and Marcel Schmelzer for this game, while Thomas Delaney is also out with suspension.
