Michael Zorc has given his backing to head coach Edin Terzic despite seeing Borussia Dortmund go on a run of three games without a win in the Bundesliga. Defeats to Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach have seen Dortmund drop out of the top four. The Black and Yellows find themselves in seventh place in the Bundesliga standings, with Champions League qualification now looking slightly uncertain.

Head coach Edin Terzic has come under a bit of criticism for the results. But Michael Zorc has given him his vote of confidence. In an interview with Bild am Sonntag, the Borussia Dortmund sporting director said: “Edin has initiated a lot of the right things,” Zorc said. “We will continue on the same path with him.”

Terzic was appointed interim head coach until the end of the season after Borussia Dortmund parted ways with Lucien Favre last month. He made an impressive start to his coaching career, winning four of his first five games in charge. But now he faces a tough task as he looks to lead the Black and Yellows to Champions League qualification.

Michael Zorc: Champions League qualification the top priority for Borussia Dortmund

Zorc also said that Borussia Dortmund must urgently start picking up points in the league, and Champions League qualification has to be the main goal for the rest of the season. Not playing in Europe’s premier club competition would cost Der BVB somewhere in the region of 30 million euros.

"“Champions League qualification must be the priority above everything – for everyone. We will now face a lot of criticism after three games without a win. We have to endure it and still work with all our means to achieve our goals for the season.”"
