Borussia Dortmund suffered their second defeat in a row, as Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the table as the second half of the Bundesliga season got underway.

Borussia Dortmund slump to Gladbach defeat

Borussia Dortmund suffered their seventh Bundesliga defeat of the season, losing 4-2 to Borussia Mönchengladbach in a topsy-turvy game. Gladbach took the lead early on through Nico Elvedi before Erling Haaland’s brace helped Dortmund turn the game around. But Elvedi equalised for the Foals soon after, before second half goals from Ramy Bensebaini and Marcus Thuram sealed the win for Marco Rose’s side.

The win took Gladbach up to fifth place in the league table, while Borussia Dortmund dropped down to seventh place.

Bayern Munich thrash Schalke again

Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points with a 4-0 win over a hapless Schalke side. Thomas Müller scored the opener for the Bavarians, before Robert Lewandowski added a second ten minutes into the second half. Late goals from Müller and David Alaba then sealed a dominant win for Bayern.
