Eintracht Frankfurt thump Arminia Bielefeld

Eintracht Frankfurt handed Arminia Bielefeld a 5-1 thrashing, with strikers Andre Silva and Luka Jovic both getting on the score sheet. Three goals in eight minutes saw the Eagles race to a big lead in the first half, with Silva scoring a brace and Filip Kostic also finding the net. Sergio Córdova pulled a goal back for last season’s 2. Bundesliga champions. But any hopes of a comeback were distinguished early in the second half when Joakim Nilsson scored an own goal to make it 4-1.

Jovic then added the icing on the cake to seal a comprehensive win which took Adi Hütter’s side up to sixth place in the league table.

Hertha Berlin beaten again, Bruno Labbadia pays the price

Hertha Berlin head coach Bruno Labbadia was sacked after watching his side lose 4-1 at home to Werder Bremen on Saturday. On-loan Hertha striker Davie Selke opened the scoring for Bremen, before Ömer Toprak made it 2-0. Jhon Córdoba did manage to pull one back, but it wasn’t enough as Leonardo Bittencourt and Josh Sargent scored in the second half to seal an impressive win for Florian Kohfeldt’s side.
