Marco Rose’s release clause of €5 million reportedly expires at the end of May

Borussia Dortmund would have to pay five million euros if they want to appoint Marco Rose as their head coach next season. According to SportBILD, the Borussia Mönchengladbach trainer has a release clause in his contract, but it is only valid until the end of May.
It is no secret that Borussia Dortmund want Marco Rose to become the club’s next permanent head coach. The Black and Yellows parted ways with Lucien Favre last month, and Edin Terzic has taken on an interim role until the end of the season. But the Gladbach head coach is the club’s desired long-term target.
Marco Rose would cost Borussia Dortmund five million euros
Marco Rose still has 18 months left on his Gladbach contract, having joined the Foals from RB Salzburg in 2019. He showed on Friday why he is rated so highly by leading Gladbach to a stunning 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund. It was the Foals’ first win over BVB in nearly six years.
Rose also led Gladbach to a top four finish in his first season at the club, and helped them qualify for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 earlier this season.
WAZ newspaper reported last week that the 44 year old would be ‘anything but averse’ to joining Borussia Dortmund. He has so far refused to comment on what his future beyond the end of the season might look like.
SportBILD add that Rose could use the international break in March to take some time and make the decision on whether he wants to join Borussia Dortmund or stay with Gladbach.
