Felix Passlack faces uncertain future at Borussia Dortmund
By Tushar Bahl
Felix Passlack is facing an uncertain future at Borussia Dortmund, with his contract due to expire in six months. The full-back’s last appearance for the first-team came back in December in the Champions League match-day six clash against Zenit St. Petersburg. And he has failed to even make the bench for six of the last nine games.
Ruhr Nachrichten claim that initial discussions about a possible contract extension for Passlack have already taken place. At the moment there is no real trend on whether 22 year old could get a new contract with the Black and Yellows. But the report does say that there is currently not much in favour of him staying in Dortmund beyond the end of the season.
Borussia Dortmund waiting to see how Felix Passlack develops
Passlack was Borussia Dortmund’s surprise package early in the season, as he took advantage of a number of injuries in the full-back positions to stake a claim for a place in the first-team squad. But he has found opportunities hard to come by in recent months, with Raphael Guerreiro, Thomas Meunier, Nico Schulz and Mateu Morey all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Passlack has been limited to just ten appearances across all competitions so far this season, and has one goal to his name.
Ruhr Nachrichten also add that a change for Passlack in the current transfer window is out of the question. The BVB bosses are waiting to see how Passlack develops in the coming weeks before making their decision.
So Passlack now has two options. Either make an impression in training and earn a new contract, or leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in the summer.
