Borussia Dortmund will be without Roman Bürki for Saturday’s Bundesliga game against Augsburg. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Bürki has a shoulder injury and is not part of the squad. Second-choice goalkeeper Marwin Hitz will start in goal instead, with the highly rated Luca Unbehaun set to take his place on the bench.

Bürki’s place in the team has been the subject of a lot of debate among Borussia Dortmund supporters in recent days. The Swiss shot-stopper has been far from his best this season, and especially struggled in the defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach last week. It looked likely that Bürki would man the sticks against Augsburg. But reports now say that he will miss out after suffering a shoulder injury during the final training session on Friday.

At the moment, it remains to be seen how long Bürki will be out for. The 30 year old has made a total of 20 appearances across all competitions so far this season, conceding 27 goals.

Bürki joins a growing injury list at Borussia Dortmund, which also features Thomas Meunier (knee), Axel Witsel (achilles tendon), Thorgan Hazard (muscle), Dan-Axel Zagadou (hamstring) and Marcel Schmelzer (rehab after surgery).
