Borussia Dortmund U-23s cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win over Sportfreunde Lotte on Sunday afternoon to move to the top of the Regionalliga West (fourth division) standings.
Looking to earn their fourth win on the trot, the Black and Yellows got off to the perfect start and took the lead in just the sixth minute, with Dominik Wanner getting on the scoresheet early on. One became two very quickly, as Taylan Duman found the net for his 10th goal of the season after a clever pass from Tobias Raschl.

With Steffen Tigges leading the line, Enrico Maaßen’s side looked like scoring almost every time they ventured forward in the first half. Dortmund were so dangerous in attack that it forced Lotte into bringing on an extra defender mid-way through the first half. The switch helped them keep the BVB attack at bay for the rest of the first half.
But Taylan Duman finally sealed the three points by making it 3-0 at the end of a devastating counter-attack in the 73rd minute. Richmond Tachie then added a fourth eight minutes from time, with substitute Ansgar Knauff providing the assist.
It was a confident performance from Borussia Dortmund and the win helped them move a point clear at the top of the Regionalliga West standings, although promotion rivals RW Essen have a game in hand. The two sides go up against each other in Essen next weekend, and the winner of that highly awaited clash can take a huge stride towards promotion to the third division of German football.
