A place in the quarter-finals will be on the line as Borussia Dortmund host SC Paderborn in the third round of the DFB Pokal on Tuesday. The Black and Yellows enjoyed a return to winning ways at the weekend with a 3-1 victory over FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga. And with winning the DFB Pokal high on the list of the club’s priorities this season, they will be aiming to make light work of SC Paderborn on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund earned a come from behind 3-1 win over FC Augsburg on Saturday, ending a run of three games without a win. BVB aren’t enjoying the best of seasons in the Bundesliga, but they will see the DFB Pokal as a competition they can win this season. They have been knocked out at this stage of the tournament in each of the last two seasons. And they cannot afford to show any complacency against a Paderborn side with not much to lose.

Paderborn were relegated from the Bundesliga at the end of last season, and they have been plagued with inconsistency in the second division. They find themselves in ninth place in the 2. Bundesliga, but are enjoying an impressive DFB Pokal run. They managed to earn a shock win over Union Berlin in the second round, and will no doubt be looking to claim an even bigger scalp on Tuesday.
Paderborn’s nearly produced a stunning upset on their last trip to the Westfalenstadion. They raced to a three goal lead in the first half when the two sides met last season, but Dortmund earned a 3-3 draw with a late comeback.
