Players to Watch

It will be interesting to see if Erling Haaland gets the nod to start, and if so, how he fares against Paderborn. The striker missed a penalty on Saturday and will certainly be hungry to get back on the scoresheet quickly. If Haaland is rested, it could present an opportunity for Youssoufa Moukoko to make his DFB-Pokal debut.

Gio Reyna hasn’t registered a goal or an assist in any of his last eight games. And while a dip in form for someone who only turned 18 in November is not much of a worry, the United States international will be looking to get back to his best again, starting with a strong performance against Paderborn.

Dennis Srbeny is Paderborn’s leading goalscorer this season, and also found the net in the surprise win over Union Berlin in the second round of the DFB Pokal. He is one player the Dortmund defenders will have to keep an eye on. Chris Führich is also in good form and will need no motivation to impress against his parent club.
