With Jadon Sancho likely to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, the BVB bosses are reportedly looking for potential replacements. And according to SportBILD, Memphis Depay and Donyell Malen are two names on the club’s list of potential targets for the summer transfer window.
Memphis Depay, who plays for French side Olympique Lyonnais, will be available on a free transfer in the summer with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. The Dutch forward is thought to be in great demand, with FC Barcelona among the clubs interested in signing him. Depay has 11 goals and six assists to his name in 22 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
It was thought that Depay would leave Lyon in the recently concluded winter transfer window. But he decided to stay on to help with their title fight. And now he will most likely leave on a free transfer in the summer.
Donyell Malen is also said to be attracting the interest of Borussia Dortmund. The highly rated PSV Eindhoven forward has 17 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season. SportBILD speculate that he would cost Dortmund at least 25-30 million euros in transfer fees.
As for Sancho, SportBILD claim that Borussia Dortmund would be open to selling him for a fee of 100 million euros to sell him in the summer. Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for the Englishman last summer, but weren’t able to match BVB’s demands. The 20 year old still has two and a half years remaining on his current Borussia Dortmund contract.
