DFB-Pokal: The seven teams Borussia Dortmund could face in the quarterfinals

The 2020/21 DFB-Pokal has been full of drama, thrilling matches and upsets so far. Eight teams still remain in the competition and the draw for the quarterfinals will be made on Sunday, February 07. Only five of the eight teams in the draw for the DFB-Pokal quarterfinals are from the Bundesliga, two are from the 2. Bundesliga, and one is from the fourth division of German football.
With the likes of Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen already knocked out, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach are the heavy favourites to win the German Cup this season. But with all the shock results we have seen so far, all eight teams will fancy their chances of making it to the final.
Borussia Dortmund survived a scare, as RW Essen pulled off a stunning upset in the third round of the DFB-Pokal
Borussia Dortmund needed extra time to overcome the challenge of SC Paderborn in the third round, while RB Leipzig cruised to a comfortable win over VfL Bochum, and Gladbach edged past Stuttgart. Fourth division side Rot-Weiss Essen pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the competition, as they came from behind to defeat Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday. While Jahn Regensburg knocked Köln out on penalties. Wolfsburg defeated Schalke, and Werder Bremen overcame the challenge of Greuther Fürth.
Here are the eight teams that will be in Sunday’s draw for the quarterfinals of the DFB-Pokal.
Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Borussia Mönchengladbach, VfL Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen
Regionalliga West: Rot-Weiss Essen
The quarterfinals of the DFB-Pokal will be played on March 02 and 03, 2021. The semi-finals will be contested on May 01 and 02, 2021. While the final is scheduled to take place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on May 13, 2021.
