Borussia Dortmund delivered yet another disappointing performance as they could only manage to get a point at home vs TSG Hoffenheim after a 2-2 draw

Following last weekend’s defeat at the hands of Freiburg, Edin Terzic and his side had the task of taking on TSG Hoffenheim at home. The match started out well for the Black and Yellows as they implemented a high press on the Hoffenheim defence. But as the match progressed, their quality on and off the ball deteriorated into a disorganised and unattractive performance.

Despite Jadon Sancho’s opener, Hoffenheim turned the game around and became the more dominant side. Only an Erling Haaland goal prevented Dortmund from suffering their ninth league defeat of the season.

Many aspects of Dortmund’s game need to improve as tougher games are fast approaching. The draw against Hoffenheim gave us another insight into the team’s vast defensive deficiencies. Here are out player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 2-2 draw against Hoffenheim.

Marwin Hitz (4/10)

Marwin Hitz had another game to forget and looked bereft of any confidence for on a few occasions. He did make a good save to deny Hoffenheim’s Ihlas Bebou from scoring twice in the first half. Bur he did not look comfortable against crosses, and his mistake hurt Dortmund in the second half when Bebou headed home Sebastian Rudy’s corner. He was too weak with his punch from a corner routine, and the striker was left with little to do to make it 2-1 for Hoffenheim.
