Borussia Dortmund return to UEFA Champions League action on Wednesday as they take on Sevilla in the first leg of their round of 16 clash. Erling Haaland, Youssef En-Nesyri, Jadon Sancho and Jules Koundé are just some of the many incredibly talented players who will be in action for the two teams, and we could be in for a fascinating contest over the two legs.

Sevilla prepared for their clash against Borussia Dortmund by earning a 1-0 win at home to SD Huesca on Saturday. Munir El Haddadi scored the only goal of the game to help Julen Lopetegui’s side make it nine wins in a row in all competitions. The Andalusian side are currently fourth in the La Liga standings and have only lost five of their 23 games against teams from Germany.

Sevilla finished second in their Champions League group behind Chelsea and are also the current UEFA Europa League champions, having beaten Inter Milan in the final last season.

Borussia Dortmund could only manage a 2-2 draw against Hoffenheim last weekend. They have won just one of their last six league matches, and go into their round of 16 clash against Sevilla desperately short on confidence. The Black and Yellows have gone out at their stage of the Champions League in each of the last two seasons. But they will no doubt have their sights set on making the quarterfinals this time around.

Borussia Dortmund qualified for the knockout rounds by finishing top in their Champions League group. They won four of their six games in a group that featured Lazio, Zenit St. Petersburg and Club Brugge.
