Mateu Morey (6.5/10)

Morey put in a strong defensive shift at right-back against Sevilla. Going up against the dangerous Papu Gomez is never easy, but Morey stuck to his task and defended with great commitment. He also made a couple of decent forward runs, but the majority of his contributions came defensively. He made a game-high six interceptions and also won two tackles.

Manuel Akanji (6/10)

Akanji had a largely solid game in defence, even though he did have a couple of sloppy moments in the second half. He played the pass to Haaland which began the move for Borussia Dortmund’s second goal, and also completed a team-high 92.3% of his passes.

Mats Hummels (6/10)

Hummels was unlucky that Suso’s early effort deflected off of him and found the back of the net. He wasn’t always in control of the defence, but still managed to help his team get the job done. He won some important headers and made several vital clearances in the second half.

Raphael Guerreiro (6.5/10)

As he so often does, Guerreiro oozed quality in the Dortmund attack. The Portuguese left-back caused Sevilla a lot of problems with his skills and quick inter-play. He was barely tested defensively, but stood up to his task whenever Sevilla threatened his flank.
