Borussia Dortmund are reportedly very confident of completing the signing of highly rated Paris St. Germain defender Soumaila Coulibaly soon. The 17 year old is considered to be one of the top prospects in France, and will be available on a free transfer (or at best a training compensation), as his youth contract with PSG is due to expire in the summer.

Ruhr Nachrichten (subscription required) report that the BVB bosses are very convinced with Coulibaly’s talent and believe that he will be able to make it to the first team in the near future.

Bayern Munich and Marseille are also said to be interested in signing Coulibaly, but Sky Germany claim that the player has already given his commitment to Borussia Dortmund. Ruhr Nachrichten add that even though he suffered a serious knee injury last week, it will not be an obstacle to the transfer.

Borussia Dortmund are also being linked with moves for two defenders from the Serie A. According to Sky Germany, Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic is one of the club’s top candidates as they look to sign a centre-back. The report claims that Dortmund have already made initial contact with his representatives.

The 23 year old has less than 18 months left on his current contract, and has also been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool in the past.

Another player reportedly attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund is Sebastian Walukiewicz, who also plays in the Italian Serie A for Cagliari. The 20 year old defender will be allowed to leave in the summer due to financial reasons and could be a cheaper alternative to Milenkovic.

Borussia Dortmund currently have three natural centre-backs in their ranks in Mats Hummels, Manuel Akanji and Dan-Axel Zagadou, while Leonardo Balerdi is currently on loan at Olympique Marseille. Highly rated defender Nnamdi Collins could also be integrated into the first-team squad next season.
