Previous Meeting: Borussia Mönchengladbach 4-2 Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund suffered a 4-2 defeat on their last visit to the Borussia-Park in what was a topsy-turvy affair between the two sides. Nico Elvedi gave Borussia Mönchengladbach the lead early on, before Erling Haaland scored twice in quick succession to put Dortmund in front.
Elvedi then scored again just before half-time, and Gladbach turned in a dominant second half performance to take the three points. Ramy Bensebaini gave the Foals the lead early in the second half, and Marcus Thuram then headed home to seal the win.
It was an excellent performance by Gladbach, who earned their first win over Dortmund in nearly six years. But unfortunately for them, they haven’t won since in the Bundesliga.
Tuesday’s DFB-Pokal quarterfinal is set to be another captivating contest between two extremely talented sides. And whoever comes out on top will become the favourite to win the competition come May.
