Jadon Sancho scored the winner as Borussia Dortmund sealed their passage into the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal with a 1-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach in the quarter-finals.

In what was a game of fine margins, Sancho’s goal proved to be the difference maker, giving Dortmund a 1-0 win over Marco Rose’s Borussia Mönchengladbach side. Both teams had several half-chances, but seemed to be lacking the cutting edge in front of goal.

Despite the vital win, the game wasn’t without negatives for Borussia Dortmund. Raphael Guerreiro was forced off with an injury early on. While Mahmoud Dahoud was sent off late in the game, and will now miss the semi-final of the DFB-Pokal. But for now, the Black and Yellows can celebrate a hard-earned win over a strong Gladbach side.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 1-0 win over Gladbach.

Hitz kept his place in goal and put in another solid shift. He made a stunning save to deny Bensebaini in the second half en-route to a third successive clean sheet. He also showed great command by coming out and claiming a number of crosses.
