Mateu Morey (6/10)

Morey wasn’t allowed to venture forward as much as he would have liked, with Thuram and Bensebaini posing a constant threat on his flank. The Spaniard defended well for the large part, but also left Thuram with too much space on a couple of occasions.

Emre Can (6/10)

Can left Thuram with acres of space in just the second minute of the game. But luckily for him, the Frenchman missed his chance from close range. He also made a number of risky passes while trying to play the ball out from the back, and not all of them came off. But he did his defensive tasks well, and also won the majority of his duels.

Mats Hummels (7.5/10)

After a horror display against Gladbach in January, Hummels looked far more assured this time around. He was kept very busy, but dealt with almost everything that came his way. He won 100% of his duels and made several vital interceptions and clearances. He also initiated the build-up for Haaland’s goal which was later chalked off.

Raphael Guerreiro (N/R)

Guerreiro’s game lasted less than five minutes as he was forced off with what looked like a muscle injury. Nico Schulz came on to replace him.
