Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund: Der Klassiker Preview and Team News

Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 2-3 Bayern Munich
Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich played out a thrilling match-up when the two sides last met in November. It was the Bavarians who came out on top in the end, earning a narrow 3-2 win.
Dortmund actually took the lead on that night through Marco Reus, but David Alaba equalised for Bayern soon after. Robert Lewandowski then gave Bayern the lead, before Leroy Sane made it 3-1. Erling Haaland pulled a goal back in the 83rd minute, but Borussia Dortmund weren’t able to find a late equaliser despite creating a host of big chances.
The two sides also met in September for the DFL-Supercup final. And Bayern earned a narrow 3-2 win on that occasion as well.
Borussia Dortmund have endured a lot of misery on their recent trips to the Allianz Arena. The Black and Yellows haven’t won in Munich since the 2017 DFB-Pokal semi-finals. Their last away win against Bayern in the Bundesliga came all the way back in 2014. And they will be looking to change that this weekend.
