Borussia Dortmund player ratings vs Bayern Munich: Erling Haaland brace in vain
By Tushar Bahl
Thorgan Hazard (7/10)
Hazard was full of running and worked really hard for the team as he always does. He set Haaland up for Borussia Dortmund’s second goal and had a few promising moments going forward. He also defended well, but looked short of fitness in the second half. He was clearly not ready to start a game of this intensity, but still managed to deliver a solid performance.
Marco Reus (5/10)
Reus started well and put a shift in but wasn’t as effective as he would have liked going forward. He helped out defensively and was often positioned inside his own half. He had a decent penalty shout early in the second half, but the referee decided against blowing for the spot-kick.
Erling Haaland (8.5/10)
Two shots, two goals. Erling Haaland got Borussia Dortmund off to a dream start with his brace in the opening ten minutes. He was hardly involved after that, before suffering a nasty looking injury in the second half. Hopefully, his substitution was just a precautionary measure and he will be available for the Sevilla game.
Haaland’s brace also helped him reach the 100 goal mark in his professional career. It took him just 147 appearances to reach the feat.
