Borussia Dortmund: Erling Haaland back in training ahead of Sevilla clash
By Tushar Bahl
Erling Haaland took part in Borussia Dortmund’s final training session ahead of the crucial second leg of their Champions League tie against Sevilla. The striker had to be substituted in the game against Bayern Munich on Saturday after taking a knock to his ankle. But he looks set to shake off the injury and lead the line for his side on Tuesday.
Having Haaland fit to face Sevilla is a big boost for Borussia Dortmund. The 20 year old is the leading goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League so far this season, with eight goals to his name in just five appearances. He scored a brace in the first leg, and will have a key role to play on Tuesday as Dortmund look to qualify for the quarterfinals.
Raphael Guerreiro and Gio Reyna miss final training session ahead of Sevilla clash
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Raphael Guerreiro (muscle injury) and Gio Reyna (knock) did not train with the team on Monday morning, and now look set to miss Tuesday’s crunch clash. Although Edin Terzic said during his pre-match conference that the duo could still feature in the game.
Jadon Sancho has already been ruled out of the game, and will be absent until the end of the month with a muscle injury.
The newspaper also reports that Thorgan Hazard did not participate in the entire training session. The Belgian international was only able to do some individual running after completing the warm-up exercises.
Nico Schulz will fill in at left-back for the injured Raphael Guerreiro like he did in the game against Bayern Munich. While Thorgan Hazard and Marco Reus will likely join Haaland in the Dortmund attack.
