Mateu Morey (6/10)

Morey delivered another largely solid performance in defence. Going up against the dangerous Ocampos was never going to be easy, but he held his own and showed that he can be Borussia Dortmund’s first choice right-back. He was booked early on but did not let that affect his game in the second half.

Emre Can (5/10)

Emre Can won a lot of duels and made a number of vital last ditch challenges for his side. But he also made a silly (and rather inexcusable error for a player of his experience) error by giving away a penalty in the second half and handing Sevilla a way back into the game.

Mats Hummels (7/10)

Hummels made a total of eleven clearances and was on his game at all times. He won the majority of his duels and led the defence really well, even though his teammates did look somewhat nervous at times. He wasn’t able to prevent the goals, but still did his job well and fought hard for the team.

Nico Schulz (6/10)

Schulz had a few nervy moments against the dangerous Suso, but he dealt with the pressure really well for the majority of the 90 minutes. He did make a few sloppy errors and did not venture forward a whole lot. But he did help win the ball back high up the pitch before the first Dortmund goal.
