Erling Haaland enjoyed another record breaking evening in the UEFA Champions League, as he scored a brace to help Borussia Dortmund qualify for the quarterfinals. The 20 year old continued his incredible goal-scoring streak in the UCL and smashed a number of records. Here we take a look at some of the facts and numbers from Borussia Dortmund’s 2-2 draw against Sevilla.

  • Fastest and Youngest to 20 CL goals: Erling Haaland became the fastest player to reach the 20 goal mark in the UEFA Champions League. It took the Norwegian international just 14 appearances to find the net 20 times in Europe’s premier club competition. He smashed the previous record set by Harry Kane, who scored his first 20 CL goals in 24 appearances. Haaland also broke Kylian Mbappe’s record and became the youngest player to score 20 CL goals, reaching the mark at the age of just 20 years and 231 days.
  • Four consecutive two-goal hauls: Erling Haaland’s brace in the second leg against Sevilla saw him make it eight goals in his last four Champions League appearances. The striker is the first player in Champions League history to score at least twice in four matches in a row.
  • 10+ goals in consecutive seasons: Haaland is also the first player in Champions League history to score ten or more goals in their first two seasons in the competition. The Borussia Dortmund marksman scored ten goals in the Champions League last season, and leads the goalscoring charts for this season with ten goals to his name in just six appearances.
  • Leading Norwegian goalscorer in the UCL: Haaland’s brace also saw him overtake Ole Gunnar Solskjær and become the highest scoring Norwegian in Champions League history.

Erling Haaland is also closing in on Borussia Dortmund’s all-time Champions League goalscoring record. The striker has 12 goals to his name in just eight CL appearances for the club. He is now just three goals behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and five shy of joint top-scorers Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski.
