Borussia Dortmund right-back Mateu Morey out for the time being with muscle injury

Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Mateu Morey for this weekend’s game against FC Köln. The club have confirmed that the right-back suffered a muscle injury during the 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin on Saturday, and he will now be unavailable for the time being.
Morey was named in the Spain U-21s squad for the UEFA European U-21 Championships earlier on Monday. But he will now stay in Dortmund during the international break to work on his rehab. A decision on when he can return to team training will be made after that.
It remains to be seen how long Morey will be out for, but his injury is a big blow to Borussia Dortmund. The 21 year old has started six of the last seven games for the Black and Yellows, and has overtaken Thomas Meunier as the first-choice right-back. The Belgian international came on to replace Morey against Hertha, and will now likely start at right-back on Saturday.
Marco Reus and Mats Hummels also had to be subbed off after picking up injuries on Saturday. But Sebastian Kehl confirmed that the duo should be available against FC Köln.
Raphael Guerreiro is due to return to team training this week, and Manuel Akanji is also on his way back after recovering from a torn muscle fibre. Jadon Sancho will miss this weekend’s game, but should be back after the international break.
Borussia Dortmund are fifth in the Bundesliga standings, two points behind fourth placed Eintracht Frankfurt with nine games to go in the season.
