Player Ratings: Borussia Dortmund held to frustrating 2-2 draw by FC Köln
By Tushar Bahl
Thomas Meunier (3/10)
Meunier must really hate playing against Köln, and especially Ismail Jakobs. He was woeful in the reverse fixture, and had an afternoon to forget once again on Saturday. The Belgian international inadvertently set Jakobs up for the goal which gave the Billy Goats the lead. It was an inexcusable mistake from a player of his experience.
He did not do much going forward either, and the 19 year old Ansgar Knauff looked a lot more lively after coming on to replace him for the final ten minutes.
Emre Can (6/10)
Can set up the early goal for Haaland with a pinpoint long ball. He did a decent job defensively and wasn’t afraid of making direct forward runs either.
Mats Hummels (5/10)
Hummels looked angry at his teammates for the majority of the 90 minutes. But even he was far from his best against Köln, and made a number of careless passes.
Nico Schulz (4/10)
Schulz had a rough time against Marius Wolf. But what was more disappointing was the lack of creativity he offered going forward. He did not seem to know what to do with the ball at his feet in the final third, and chose the easy, sideways pass more often than not.
