Jadon Sancho’s muscle injury could keep him out for a long period than expected, with the Borussia Dortmund forward currently seeing a specialist to speed up his recovery. According to Ruhr Nachrichten (subscription required), Sancho is unlikely to be fit in time for the Black and Yellows’ crunch Bundesliga clash against Eintracht Frankfurt on April 03.

The newspaper adds that it is possible Sancho could be fit for the first leg of Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City. But a return for the second leg on April 14 seems to be more realistic at the moment

While the Athletic’s David Ornstein says that the England international is currently seeing a specialist in Dubai. He traveled to the United Arab Emirates with the club’s blessing, and there is no expectation of any quarantine issues when he returns to Germany. He is currently rated only 50/50 to play in the first leg against Manchester City.

Jadon Sancho, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017, will be determined to play against his former club. The 20 year old was in excellent form before suffering his injury in the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach earlier this month. And his absence has certainly been felt by the team in recent games. Sancho has 12 goals and 16 assists to his name in 31 appearances this season.

Borussia Dortmund will be hoping that Sancho does not have to miss too many more games, with the team still competing in all three competitions. Der BVB have seven games coming up in April, including both legs of their Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City.
