Ten Borussia Dortmund players will be away with their national teams over the next two weeks as club football takes a back seat for the final international break of the season.

Emre Can is the only Borussia Dortmund player in the Germany squad for their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Iceland, Romania and North Macedonia. Youssoufa Moukoko has been included in the Germany U-21s squad for the group stage of the European Championships. If he plays, he will become the youngest player to ever feature for the Germany U-21s.

Jude Bellingham will be away with the England national team for their World Cup qualifiers against San Marino, Albania and Poland. He will not have to quarantine upon his return to Dortmund, as the German government has downgraded the United Kingdom’s COVID-19 threat status from “mutation zone” to “high risk.”

Thorgan Hazard and Thomas Meunier have both been named in the Belgium squad. However, they will only be available for two of the Red Devils’ fixtures. The Borussia Dortmund duo will be available for their home World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Belarus, but will not travel to Prague for the game against the Czech Republic.

Raphael Guerreiro has been named in the Portugal squad despite carrying a muscle injury. The decision to call up Guerreiro has been criticised by the BVB bosses, who are hopeful that he will return to Dortmund this week after getting checked on by the Portugal medical staff.

Gio Reyna will be away with the United States squad for their upcoming international friendlies. It was thought earlier that he would only be available for their game against Jamaica. But the latest rule changes mean that he will also be allowed to face Northern Ireland in Belfast without having to quarantine.

While Manuel Akanji will be away with Switzerland for their World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria, Lithuania and Finland.
