Borussia Dortmund reportedly interested in signing highly rated PAOK winger Christos Tzolis
Borussia Dortmund are being linked with a move for highly rated winger Christos Tzolis, who is considered to be one of the best young talents in the Greek Super League. According to BILD, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach are both interested in signing the 19 year old. The tabloid claims that his signature would cost around 15 million euros.
Tzolis, who plays with former Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa at PAOK Thessaloniki, has been in excellent form this season. The winger has six goals and six assists to his name in 25 appearances in the Greek Super League this season. He has also impressed in the UEFA Europa League, scoring three goals and providing two assists in just five appearances.
Tzolis still has more than three years remaining on his current deal with PAOK, having signed a contract extension in September 2020.
Greek outlet Sportime reported last month that Borussia Dortmund have scouted Tzolis repeatedly in recent months and they highly appreciate his talent and ability. Tzolis is primarily a winger but can also play through the middle in the number ten role. English Premier League sides Manchester United and Brighton and Hove Albion have also been linked with a move for the Greece international in the past.
It remains to be seen how real Borussia Dortmund’s interest is in signing Tzolis. But they will reportedly look to bring in a new forward this summer. The Black and Yellows have also been linked with Dutch forwards Donyell Malen and Memphis Depay in recent months.
