Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola and his father Alf-Inge Haaland traveled to Barcelona to discuss a potential move for the Borussia Dortmund striker on Thursday. Reports also claim that after leaving Barcelona, the duo traveled to Madrid to hold talks about Real Madrid’s proposal for Haaland.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Raiola also had a meeting with the BVB bosses in Dortmund in the last few days to talk about a potential asking price for Haaland. He adds that the race for the signature for Haaland is open, and many clubs interested in signing him.

While the meeting between Raiola and Barcelona confirms that the two Spanish giants giants are interested in signing Erling Haaland, it does not necessarily mean that the striker will join them. Haaland and his father also met with officials from RB Leipzig and Manchester United in December 2019 before deciding to join Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the Norwegian international in recent weeks.

Borussia Dortmund have no plans to sell Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window, and will only part ways with the striker if they receive a mammoth transfer fee. ESPN reported last month that the BVB bosses have set an asking price of 180 million euros for Haaland in a move to fend off interested clubs. They will adopt a hardline tactic for the striker, just like they did with Jadon Sancho last summer.

Haaland, who has scored 49 goals in just 49 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, still has more than three years left on his contract. There is also said to be a release clause in his contract, but it does not come into effect until the end of next season.
